Therefore, in challenging environments, additional protective coatings or anodizing are recommended. Compatible with anodizing, 2024 T4 offers both enhanced surface durability and corrosion resistance while also providing an aesthetic finish.
Due to limited weldability, 2024 T4 is typically assembled using mechanical fastening methods. The cold-drawing process enhances its formability, making it well-suited for bending and complex shapes.
